Outgoing Chair Award

During Jim Taylor’s term as chair in 2011, DRCOG launched Metro Vision 2035 implementation efforts, including the Boomer Bond project to help local governments prepare for the aging of the region’s population. Jim is a dedicated member of DRCOG’s Advisory Committee on Aging, and his in-depth understanding of aging issues has been an asset at the board table.
In addition, Jim has been a driving force with the Metro Vision Implementation Steering Group, a pilot project involving people from all sectors of the region who are advising DRCOG on carrying out the plan.
Under his leadership, DRCOG and its partners were successful in bringing the Housing and Urban Development Sustainable Communities Regional Planning Grant to the Region.
His close attention to the steering group and to the sustainable communities initiative has been of immeasurable value and crucial to success.
